SIMILAN

High performance simulation and implementation for digital signal processing domains
Systematic Paris-Région Competitiveness Cluster project

Signal processing domain suffers a set of technological barriers that inhibit innovation, however necessary to respond to the increasing digitization to treat large volumes of data, the impossibility to depend on specific machines, not to mention space and low power consumption constraints.

SIMILAN project aims at creating a single tool for all the development chain actors enabling them to simulate and generate high performance code thanks to the new generations of hardware acceleration for data flow processing applications.

At first are concerned the domains of radar, telecommunications, image processing and processing of electromagnetic test data on aircraft. Ultimately, the tool could be extended to any type of data flow processing applications.

Within this context, Scilab Consortium is involved in SIMILAN project to:

  • Integrate Scilab to ASTRAD Platform so that the latter could benefit the capabilities of Scilab,
  • Develop a module to increase Scilab functional capabilities in signal and image processing,
  • Pursue the ongoing development in parallelizing code to expand Scilab capabilities in code generation to embedded and parallel code generation.
