The Scilab Consortium

Created in 2003 by INRIA (the French national institute for research in computer science and control), the Scilab Consortium has joined the Digiteo Foundation in July 2008.

The Scilab Consortium, which includes industrials and academics, pursues the ambition of making Scilab the free reference in numerical computation.

Thus, the Scilab Consortium aims at:

  • Organizing cooperation and exchange within the community of contributors to gather recent scientific breakthroughs in the field of numerical computation
  • Providing industry, research and education, an open source platform meeting the requirements of those fields. Organizing to this end, cooperation and exchange within the community of users
  • Maintaining the resources and facilities necessary for the development, the publishing and the promotion of Scilab successive versions, the organization of the community of contributors, the scientific animation, the quality monitoring and the support to the Consortium members
  • Associating industrial and academic partners in a powerful international ecosystem.

The Scilab Consortium keeps a privileged relationship with INRIA as the Institute is one of its members and supports actively its development. INRIA is also a founding member of Digiteo.

Digiteo is the first world-class research park in the Île-de-France area dedicated to Information and Communication Science and Technology (ICST). Bringing together the expertise of 1,200 researchers from six institutes on the Saclay plateau, Digiteo offers new collaborative possibilities for ambitious research projects.
